A temporary resident from India escaped jail time after pleading guilty to sexual assault, receiving 170 days of house arrest and 18 months of probation from a B.C. Supreme Court judge.

Karandeep Singh, 24, pleaded guilty Jun. 30 to a Jun. 13, 2024 sexual assault in Prince George, as reported by the Prince George Citizen.

An agreed statement of facts said the woman met Singh through her cousin the previous month.
