With the Conservative vote growing in Atlantic Canada and the Liberals potentially divided by a nasty nomination fight, the seat is up for grabs.
Sydney–Glace Bay is the heart of Industrial Cape Breton. For a century, the region was dominated by coal mines, steel mills and industrial development. Almost all of that has gone now and been replaced by service and call centre jobs.
