Swing Riding Profile: Milton East—Halton Hills South

This is the sort of seat the Conservatives have to win in order to form any sort of government. It’s also critical for the Liberals to hold it if they expect to retain power.

Milton East—Halton Hills South is a new seat carved out of Toronto's suburbs and exurbs. It combines the eastern half of the Town of Milton with the village of Georgetown. It’s a community of young families, commuters and recent arrivals both to the area and to Canada as a whole. It’s one of the communities that has seen significant growth as house prices have become unaffordable in much of the Greater Toronto Area. Young families have moved to Milton and Georgetown to find an affordable detached home.
