An Abbotsford man was hospitalized after being stabbed while waiting at a bus stop in Abbotsford on Tuesday evening.
Sgt. Paul Walker of the Abbotsford Police Department told media that frontline officers responded to the assault on Tuesday evening at 6:14 p.m., which he said happened outside a bus stop in the 32700 block of South Fraser Way.
Abbotsford police patrolled the area in search of the suspect, but Sgt. Walker reported that the suspect fled the scene and remains at large.
The victim fortunately sustained only "non-life threatening injuries," according to police, but photos provided to media showed them being stretchered away from the bus stop where the attack occurred.
The attack fits within a wider pattern of stranger attacks throughout the Greater Vancouver Area, as has been reported on extensively by True North.
BC Conservative MLA Harman Bhangu took to X to express his concern over the newest development in this trend.
“It’s happening all over,” Banghu said.
“A man minding his own business, just waiting for the bus, ends up in the hospital,” he continued. “Random violence in our communities is out of control — and innocent people are paying the price.”
