Hundreds gathered on Sunday at a public forum to discuss escalating extortion attempts and crime in the area with some calling for “vigilante justice to stop the extortion killings (and) threats” amidst perceived police inaction, according to B.C.’s public safety critic.
“If you can’t do it,” one town hall attendee said of the RCMP’s alleged inability and inaction to deal with the rising threat of extortions and gang violence, “give us guns (and) the public can handle it.”
