Surrey, B.C., police are appealing for more victims after charging two people in a horrifying child exploitation case spanning three years, involving child sexual abuse material.
Surrey, B.C., police are appealing for more victims after charging two people in a horrifying child exploitation case spanning three years, involving child sexual abuse material and other alleged crimes committed between 2021 and 2024.
The Surrey RCMP’s Special Victims Unit launched the investigation in October 2024, leading to the arrests of a 28-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, according to a Friday media release from Surrey police.
The BC Prosecution Service approved the charges on Dec. 10. Police are now releasing photos of the accused in hopes of identifying more victims or witnesses.
Carter Cooke, 28, faces charges including possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography, four counts of distributing child pornography, three counts of sexual interference with a person under 16, two counts of luring a child under 18 and three counts of making child pornography, all contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
Tkhu Khyonh “Mika” Nhuien, 21, is charged with three counts of sexual interference with a person under 16, two counts of luring a child under 18 and three counts of making child pornography.
