The Supreme Court of Canada has dismantled mandatory one-year jail terms for child pornography possession, claiming the sentences unconstitutionally tie judges’ hands.
Some striking down is indeed required but I'm afraid it would have to come from a higher power directed at the abominations in our (not so) Supreme Court.

The judges are making these decisions, not those who put them there. Obviously they were put there so they could make decisions like this. The fact remains they will be the problem even after those who put them there are gone.
Does this mean that the Supreme Court justices are pedophiles themselves and, should they be caught, don't want the sentences to be too high???? That might explain a few things about our legal system problems.
Canada's whole judicial system that protects criminals over victims needs a major overhaul to get rid of this Soft on Crime legislation.
Anyone who thinks this is a positive or proper decision has some of their own issues. The court system should feel embarrassed by this.
