Supreme Court declines Aboriginal title case appeal

Wolastoqey First Nations had claimed ownership over private industrial forest land in New Brunswick, however Canada's highest court has declined to hear their appeal.

The Supreme Court of Canada has denied a leave to appeal filed by the Wolastoqey Nation regarding whether Aboriginal title could apply to private land.

Wolastoqey First Nations had claimed ownership of private industrial forest land in New Brunswick. In a final ruling on the case, the Supreme Court denied an appeal of an earlier decision.
