Taxpayers in provinces like Quebec could soon be forced to fund daycare for every person claiming refugee status in Canada, thanks to a recent Supreme Court of Canada ruling. A constitutional lawyer warns that this decision could open the floodgates, forcing Canadians to also pay for housing and healthcare services for refugee claimants.

In an interview with Juno News, Josh Dehaas, a civil liberties advocate and lawyer with the Canadian Constitution Foundation, which intervened in the case, broke down the decision. He noted it could have far-reaching consequences on the use of public funds and future discrimination cases.
