Superior Court rules in favour of Christian group against Quebec government

The Superior Court of Quebec has ruled that the provincial government had violated Charter rights when it ordered a convention centre to cancel an event held by a Christian group over its pro-life stance.
On July 31, Judge Alain Trudel ordered former Quebec Minister of Tourism Caroline Proulx, the Quebec City Convention Centre and the Attorney General of Quebec to pay the plaintiff, an evangelical Christian group, $30,636.92 for its decision to prevent the “Faith, Freedom, Fire” event in 2023.
