Smith launches website on upcoming referendum questions

The government website is designed to inform residents on what the details are of the nine questions that will be voted on in Alberta's October referendum.

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith revealed a website collecting Alberta referendum questions, although a referendum question on separation was missing.

Initially, Smith announced the referendum questions would primarily be related to issues of immigration policy and constitutional reform, but could now include a question on Alberta's separation from Confederation.

“We’re waiting for the result from the courts in May because the court has paused the validation of signatures on the APP one [petition],” she told reporters in Edmonton on Thursday, noting that as long as it meets the requisite number of signatures.
