Smith and other Conservatives are calling on Ottawa to use the notwithstanding clause after the Supreme Court of Canada scrapped mandatory minimum sentences for accessing child pornography.
Our justice system under this Liberal gov't is so out of touch with what Canadians want, why would we expect the Supreme Court to be any different. Should the judges in the Supreme Court be investigated as some of them seem to favor pedophiles? Possession, distribution of child porn warrants an automatic jail sentence.
Danielle Smith and Scott Moe appear to be the only 2 adults in the room at present. When will the other premiers grow up? The so called Liberals have everything headed to hell in a hand basket!! Come on Canadians, it is time to stand up and say STOP!!
Yesterday in the HoC when confronted by Poilievre over this question Skid Marx whined, "Mr. Speaker this government intends to introduce legislation, in keeping with Canadian law, Mr. Speaker, that will protect all Canadians, Mr. Speaker, because those of us on this side of the aisle, Mr. Speaker, are the only ones who care about Canadians, Mr. Speaker!" or words to that affect. Essentially, like everything else, they are talking about making a plan to implement an action initiative when they get around to formulating the idea in such a way that benefits Brookfield or some such nonsense.
And here, in this one issue, is Liberal hypocrisy on full and glorious display.
By refusing to properly punish those who use child pornography, one department of the Liberal government, the Supreme Court, continues its 'soft-on-paedophiles' stance. While from the other side of its mouth, under the guise of "Online Harms Reduction" this same government relentlessly pushes Bill C-63 (and others) on us.
To fully appreciate the hypocrisy, here's the statement of purpose of C-63, as issued by them:
"The legislation was written to police harmful content online, including content used to bully a child or encourage a child to harm themselves, hate speech, content that incites violence or terrorism, content that sexualizes children or victims of sexual violence and sexual content that is posted without consent."
Notice how the phrase "hate speech" is understated and surrounded by all the good things promised to protect children? This is by design to deflect us from the true purpose of this, and other associated Bills.
That true purpose is to make it illegal to criticize the government on any Internet forum - including JUNO. And in the minutia of the Bill, it's clear that the government will decide what is and isn't "hate speech" - along with maximum penalties of life imprisonment.
The government, as confirmed by their Supreme Court's recent decision, cares not one iota about our children.
A final note. The Supreme Court really needs a do-over on their dress code. Blood-red silk gowns with snow white collars? Really? They look like something out of a medieval Druid ritual, held only during a full blood-moon, on Halloween. Frightening!
Unbelievable. Supreme Court needs to be dismantled and become voted positions with a term limit.
Absolutely. And then either abolish the senate or make it equally accountable.
By the day...
More evidence right IN YOUR FACE.
Supreme court justices are woke/joke/ abominations.
Canada has truly fallen.
