Senior citizens are the only Canadians who still largely trust TV news, according to new research from the CRTC. Younger Canadians, aged 34 and under, are the most skeptical.
I agree with the others 2 comments, I am 84 and I have not watched television news for many years. I read CBC Digital to get an idea what propaganda they are throwing at us, but my news comes from Juno, The Bureau , Western standard and Epoch Times etc.
I couldn't agree more. I am too old in my 70's, to waste the precious years I have left, watching msm drivel and lies, to maintain my opinion of them. I trust the demonstrated criticisms of independent media sources, along with their selected clips from msm outlets, to form and keep my opinion of the state of the subsidized msm sycophants. Add Northern Perspective to your list of the good sources. It pains me, to have very good friends from my past, who just don't seem to get it. There's no getting through to them, without offending them. I'm sure, they are in the group of tv watching seniors, referenced in this article.
I’m 69 and my tv news days stopped a few years ago. I’m a Juno news, the Bureau, Without Diminishment, Epoch times reader. I wish more of our friends would do the same.
You might want to check your data source. I'm a super-senior, 81. I use the MSM, all of them, as a photographic negative. Whatever I see in the MSM is the polar opposite of the truth. That philosophy has not changed in decades and it has never failed me. The ONLY news outlets I trust are the wholly independent ones, such as Juno and The Bureau.
My consumption of MSN news has gone from daily (20 years ago) to once or twice a month - just to see what the enemy is up to. And "The Enemy" is exactly what the MSM has become. It is the weapon used by the current regime.
You are the rarity not the norm . Most of the people I know watch TV news . They still have zero idea of what has really happened or is happening now . You can't even talk to them or they get mad or tune you out . I turned off CBC 3 decades ago . I watch NO TV news .
Yes, you may be right about most older people. Many of them are Legacy voters. "My parents voted Liberal all their lives and so will I. Damned if I'm changing now." This lets them off the hook of having to think. I try not to engage this type - pointless for the most part.
But not all of them. I think there's a dawning recognition amongst some of this group that all is not well in their Liberal Valhalla. That fact is getting harder by the day to ignore, even for the genetically-inclined Liberal.
My experience with trying to engage them is that they refuse to talk about it. That indicates to me that they know something is wrong. Maybe that's a start.

Good article, and being a senior of 74 years, I got rid of cable TV and Canadian main stream news years ago, anything with a commercial I will not watch, and the news is jaded to the liberal cause because it is bought and paid for.
On the other hand many less than savvy seniors watch the traditional CBC propaganda daily, and this is where the problem lies, also seniors as a voting block, go out and vote.
As a senior I still watch CTV CBC Global but these days it is for the comedy, certainly not for the quality, accuracy, truthfulness, unbiased reporting, distortions or the Carney/Liberal love in.
