Twenty-five people, mostly school children, were taken to the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash involving a school bus and a semi-truck south of Quebec City on Thursday morning.
The school bus collided with a semi-truck just after 11 a.m. on Route 271 in Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Cœur-d’Issoudun, about an hour south of the provincial capital.
At least 25 people, most of them children, were hospitalized. Five were taken away from the scene by stretcher, while another 15 were taken as a precaution. The driver of the semitruck was also taken to the hospital.
Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Béatrice Dorsainville said the transport truck rear-ended another vehicle, which then careened into the school bus. The school bus had stopped to pick up a student.
The bus driver and the driver of the car struck by the truck sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital. The semi-truck driver was unharmed.
No serious injuries have been reported. The collision is under investigation.
