The Jewish community, neighbours and police are searching for a 14-year-old girl who has been missing since Friday and was last seen near Sheppard Avenue and Bathurst Street in Toronto, a neighbourhood with a large Jewish population.

Some online have called for police to investigate whether the girl’s disappearance is connected to anti-Israel and pro-jihad protesters who gather in the area every Sunday to demonstrate against the Jewish state of Israel.

According to the Toronto Police Service, Esther was last seen at 11:30 pm in the Bathurst and Sheppard area, near Earl Bales Park. She was wearing grey sweatpants, a green top and no shoes. She’s described as being 5’2’’, medium build, with brown hair.
