The HWDSB is facing legal scrutiny after suspending a parent from her elected role on a school council for requesting that her objection to land acknowledgements be recorded in the meeting minutes.
I really hope it isn't the intention of the Left that land acknowledgements continue for eternity! The are often laughable in their romanticized version of indigenous history, and hypocritical.
This nonsense must stop. Land acknowledgements are nothing more than virtue signalling. Is the land going to be returned to the indigenous peoples of Canada? I think not.
You're welcome. It's my opinion that the story is that our right to freedom of conscious and speech is being eroded. The land acknowledgement is just one among many vehicles by which this is advancing.
And Juno News, as well as author, Melanie Bennett of True North, you rock and thank you. for shining a light on this. The board’s attempt to keep this in secrecy makes me sick.
If we are going to acknowledge previous governance of Canadian land then let's name names. I'm sure Mohawks and Iroquois would like to be mentioned as THE previous owner. Then we could have simultaneous Hindu-Sikh and Mohawk-Iroquois street fights.
Catherine Kronas what a strong, intelligent, well spoken woman you are. I applaud you for speaking for all Canadians who think this 'land acknowledgement' is a case of another load of government invented crap being foisted on us.

I think not. The canadian tax payer has paid for this country by trillions of dollars. And are still paying. They've been paid out case closed.

Agreed. And most of our ‘state run media’ is allowing this to happen.

Communism has creeped into the Ontario schools too. Fatty must be proud.
