Families across the Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) recently received a communication promoting a “Career Discovery Expo” targeted exclusively to “female-identifying students,” according to an email sent to parents from the region.

The email states the event is “directed toward female-identifying students in grades 7 to 12” and will provide information about “Specialist High Skills Majors,” the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program, “Cooperative Education,” and “technology opportunities.”

The fair intends to put “female-identifying” students in touch with “top local and regional employers,” and explore “pathways in skilled trades, technology, and other high-demand sectors.”
