Scarborough mosque sermon describes Khamenei’s death as “martyrdom”
A Scarborough mosque hosted a sermon commemorating the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, describing him as a martyr and urging unity among Shia Muslims.
The gathering took place at Madina tul Ilm, operated by the Al-Eman Society of Canada. A speaker delivered a sermon framing Khamenei’s death as “shahadat,” the Islamic concept of martyrdom.
Video from the event shows the speaker describing Khamenei’s death as martyrdom and calling for unity among Shias following what he described as an “insult” to the community.
