Riots erupt after Sudanese migrant attempted beheading in the streets of Belfast

Riots have erupted across Belfast and spread to other parts of the United Kingdom after a Sudanese asylum seeker allegedly tried to behead a man in broad daylight on a busy city street.

Graphic videos circulating online show members of the public rushing in to stop the attack, striking and restraining the suspect before police arrived. The incident has reignited fierce debate over immigration, public safety and border security across the U.K.

The suspect has been identified as 30-year-old Hadi Alodid, a Sudanese asylum seeker who, according to media reports, was granted Leave to Remain in the United Kingdom in 2023.
