Refugee advocate sentenced to two years probation for immigration fraud

A Regina man has been sentenced to probation, community service and a hefty fine following an extensive Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) investigation into a complex immigration fraud scheme.

Abdulkader Ali, a former refugee field worker for a local sponsorship organization, pleaded guilty in Saskatchewan Provincial Court to two charges under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
