Rebel News has lost its court battle over federal journalism tax status, prompting publisher Ezra Levant to warn that Ottawa has too much power to decide who qualifies as a journalist.
“The first thing to understand about this ruling is that the courts did not make their own judgment about Rebel News,” Levant told Juno News.
“A committee now decides who counts as a journalist in Canada, and the courts say that’s fine.”
