RCMP told not to investigate Flight PS752 shot down by Iran
The planned investigation was dropped under former prime minister Justin Trudeau shortly after he held a meeting with then-Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Munich, Germany.
The RCMP quietly cancelled a criminal investigation into the 2020 Ukrainian International Airlines Flight PS752 that was shot down by Iran, resulting in the death of 138 Canadians, but says it has no records of who ordered them to stop.
The planned investigation was dropped under former prime minister Justin Trudeau shortly after he held a meeting with then-Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Munich, Germany. It followed a previous meeting between Zarif and former foreign affairs minister François-Philippe Champagne in Muscat, Oman, a month earlier.
