RCMP arrest man accused of involvement in Rwanda genocide
Roland Nduwayo is accused of living in Canada under a fake identity since 1996 despite being wanted for his alleged role in the Rwandan genocide.
Canadian authorities have arrested a 68-year-old Ottawa resident on 16 immigration-related charges after a multi-year investigation revealed he had been living in Canada under an assumed identity since 1996 while wanted by Rwandan authorities for his alleged role in the 1994 genocide.
Roland Nduwayo was taken into custody on June 22, 2026, shortly after returning to Canada from abroad. RCMP officers from the Sensitive and International Investigations unit also executed a search warrant at his residence, seizing documents and electronic devices.
