The state broadcaster, Radio-Canada, was forced to issue an apology after wrongly identifying the Tumbler Ridge shooter, Jesse Strang (Van Rootselaar) by circulating and broadcasting a photograph of an innocent person.

“We sincerely apologize for the publication late in the afternoon of February 11th of a photo that we presented as being of the perpetrator of the Tumbler Ridge shooting, but which turned out to be a photo of someone else,” issued Radio-Canada in a statement on Thursday.
