Members of Alberta’s United Conservative Party are set to vote on a proposal at the upcoming annual general meeting that could scrap the province’s controversial “no-fault” insurance system.
With the ever increasing number of incompetent drivers now on Alberta roads- and its not only in the trucking industry, as I would expect the same scam is going on with " driving schools" for class 5 licenses as has been discovered for trucking - Smith must repeal these changes in order to protect the safe and competent drivers.
True North, Tyler Van Vliet, an associate with Crash Lawyers in Calgary, said returning to the previous system would “preserve the basic right of an injured person to bring a claim against the driver who hurt them and to have an independent judge assess their losses.”
This needs to be left in everyone’s insurance policy. If Alberta really wants to help Alberta’s drivers - put a ceiling on insurance company rates!!
BC’s driver plan helps only the insurance companies who still charge exhorbitant rates. Leaves the average accident victim high and dry with no recourse!!!
I'm sure the life sucking insurance companies persuaded Smith to come up with this plan. The plan which they drew up, I'm sure.
