It will cost billions, I suspect this is well orchestrated by Indian to get compensation as a settlement as a result on the backside to keep the "status quo." Heck this may even be initiated through a back government channel to the Bands involved knowing very well the outcome is a pre determined settlement with Bands.

Turn the heat up on the very people who gave you everything through their tax dollars and innovations throughout time, create fear and a soft panic in all the home owners involved.

All this is doing is making the divide even bigger and fostering more hatred and dislike for our migrated brothers and sisters, shame on all of you.

Exactly. The door has now been kicked open by the Indian Industry. If the government’s appeal is lost, the number of land claims will skyrocket and cost taxpayers $ billions.

Never mind the continual flow of tax $$ for the open ended " reconciliation " game much of it based on lies from Kamloops. Start digging.

Well you know, the WEF has warned us that we will own nothing & be happy. Is this the beginning of not "owing anything?" I suspect it has something to do with it.

Thanks to the NDP and their UNDRIP.. I hope we have a stronger right wing to counter them in an election. They have done enough damage with their Indian platform.

All we have to do is file a class action lawsuit against the woke justin trudeau government and him personally, as well as the woke bc government and david ebby personally. And list all the whacked out woke judges that decided this and sue them for coming up with this crazy idea! Also, the natives need to decide, give back the billions (or trillions) they received in treaty money and keep the land, or keep the treaty money and the land they already have

I was going to day the same thing, class action against the turd, sleazy eby, the judge and both fed and prov government. 10 % of land in BC is without treaty but so what, all this treat nonsense shoulc be scrapped. Thd indians have been paid hundreds of billions and everyone of thdm should be a multimillionaire..where did the money go is the question they should be asking their chiefs. Cut them off, enough is enough.

Trudeau discontinued the audits that Harper had put in place when the residents on reserves were starting to question why the leaders were living large while the residents were going without.. So they have been very happy with the Liberals who have been handing out the largesse without any checks and balances. They win.

Unfortunately Canada, or at least our elected jerks, are learning Canada’s place in the world.

Woke, broke and culturally confused.

I hate to say it but it may be well worth paying off the Indians if the result is the end of the Indian Act and the generation welfare that we pay for. This would free Canadians from Indentured Servitude. Working for the Indians. That being said Canada has to certify property rights to both Indians and Property Owners. Decades of taxpayer theft. Fake Land Claims. Railway/Road blockades. The Indian Industry. White Guilt. Two tiered justice. Murders and mayhem. Indian gangs...... Enough.

You do know that Canadians DO NOT HAVE PROPERTY RIGHTS. Way back when the constitution was being written, the provinces wanted property rights but were denied. I'm thinking that's why they had the notwithstanding clause written in so we had something to protect us from the Feds. How is that working out? The Feds want to change it of course to give themselves even more power over the provinces!! We can't allow this to happen otherwise we may as well bow down to authoritarianism because that's pretty much where we are not. Thank god for Smith - she's fighting it!

Yes. I knew that. Definitely the Canadian constitution and in Fact Democracy can be manipulated by other forces. But now that the UN(DRIP) has taken this time to push the Indian Land issue on Canadian property owners, it is likely time to force the Liberals to fix the problem. Of course Carney wants the laws in-place as it suits his Global agenda well. That leaves Canadians in the hands of fighters like Smith. I wish that I knew how to circle and separate Ottawa away from Canada.

Do you think that's been the plan all along? For us to lose our property because that's why it's not in the constitution? Will those in B.C. be reimbursed for their purchases, all the maintenance & improvements they made? I bet not. I bet they'll be given an option: stay but pay the natives (and the bank) OR leave w/o compensation?

Also, since it was the B.C. Supreme Court that made this terrible decision, can the Federal Supreme Court weigh in? Or is it too late? Anyone????

I believe that has been the plan shorty after Trudeau was elected. His mentors at the WEF are pushing for Communism. Of course Carney seems to be a fan. They like Communism, as the encroachment via socialism results in a vacuum at the top of the pyramid. Carney wins. Trudeau wins. WEF leaders win. Good for them bad for us.

If you think that all the landowners whose land is being taken will bow down to the indigenous people then you better think again. This will raise a shitstorm of anger and fighting and make no mistake about it. When you have worked all your life to own a house and paid all your taxes for years no one in their right mind will give it up without a fight. The gun grab is part of us not being to fight back….just say NO. Also what happens if another band challenges the first one for ownership because their ancestors built an outhouse there many years ago so they could go camping and hunting there….they will be back to square one and fighting each other too as they did hundreds of years ago….what a dump this country is becoming…..just try to take my little bit of earth here and you will wish you had thought that through beforehand…..heaven help us all.

Makes you wonder when Carney declared himself PM one of the first acts was the gun buy back. As time goes on it becomes more apparent with his policies where he's headed. Most legitimate gun owners will never comply especially with his unhinged directives.. He's not working for Canadians ..

Somehow, the land that's expropriated is never land a judge or politician lives on. Funny, that.

Spoken by a relative whose family lived in communist Romania.

Land expropriations are always communist, even when dressed up in First Nations garb.

The language might change, and the calls for equality might be rephrased, but the main idea stays the same: private ownership is less important than the tribe. Whether this group is called a “people’s state” or a “reconciled nation,” the result is the same: individual property rights are gone.

Connect the dots here: Trudeau gets elected, immediately is photographed cozying up with high level Beijing officials in Vancouver (and God knows where else); made truth and reconciliation procedures and issues a huge Canada-wide divisive issue, and ultimately ended up giving crazy unfounded priorities to FN. Billions of dollars have, and continue, to flow to FN across Canada. Trudeau was in deep with communist connections and we know without doubt from Sam Coopers recent testimony that Carney is as well. Look at this article and the progression to total communist control that occurred in Romania. THERE SIMILARITIES ARE LIKE LOOKING IN A BIG MIRROR!!

If they're on unceded land, and the Indigenous have treaty rights that are still valid. The indigenous would have the legitimate ownership. This isn't all that unusual. If you watch international real estate shows, you'll see that sometimes they show a situation where a person has bought a piece of property in another country and are just ready to move in, when someone shows up with ownership papers from several hundred years ago. At the very least, it causes more delay and expense to have it investigated and cleared up legally.

Now the banks don't want to renew mortgages on these properties. Will owners just have to walk away. That's one way of getting cheap housing for the government to give to immigrants i guess. Won't have to build new homes. What a fuck up this country has become. I Hear some of you saying "well if you don't like it...leave." I definitely would but the government has made it so financially that's not possible.
