Privy Council finds Alto rail opposed by those who would benefit most

The Carney government’s push for the proposed Alto high-speed rail has been opposed even by those who would benefit most from the train, according to Privy Council research.

A federal focus group found that Ottawa’s $90 billion Alto high-speed rail initiative is seen as a “high financial cost” and unnecessary by people living in Ontario and Quebec.
