Privacy czar orders search engines to delist harmful info upon request

Canada's privacy commissioner ruled that individuals have "the right to be forgotten," allowing delisting information from search results if it poses a serious risk to their safety or dignity. However, Google is challenging this decision.
Privacy Commissioner Philippe Dufresne has recommended Google de-list articles about individuals who have had a criminal charge dropped. This applies "if certain elements of their personal information continue to be displayed through an online search for their name and this risk of harm outweighs the public interest in that information remaining accessible through such a search."
