Premier Moe, industry leaders call for Ottawa to 'go back to the table' with U.S.
“I want a trade agreement with the United States of America. They’re our largest trading partner, have been for all of our lives and likely will be for the future,” said Premier Scott Moe.
Former transport minister Lisa Raitt says the Carney government must return to the negotiating table with the Trump administration and finalize a trade deal before more businesses are forced to shut their doors.
Raitt made the comments while appearing as a guest on CBC’s Power & Politics when asked how Ottawa could strike a deal with the U.S. without having to give up too much leverage on Canadian energy, which would bring domestic pushback.
