Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston had his vehicle swarmed after what his office described as “an extreme faction amongst a group of protesters” smashed his vehicle's windshield and forced him to leave under police escort.

The protestors were angry about several libraries potentially closing in the province’s Annapolis Valley region, resulting in the windshield being smashed and Houston requiring a police escort.

The premier’s stop in Wolfville on Wednesday was the launch of his speaking tour to chambers of commerce across Nova Scotia to talk about his economic vision at Acadia University.
