Toronto Police are looking for a man suspected in a hate-motivated assault with a weapon investigation after the man allegedly stabbed a victim in Toronto after yelling “anti-Sikh utterances and racial slurs.”

Police described the suspect as 5’6’’ with black hair and described the NFL Sunday Ticket jersey he was wearing but omitted any reference to the man’s skin colour when informing the public of who to look out for.

When asked about the decision to describe the suspect with every detail other than his obvious dark complexion, the Toronto Police Service did not respond to Juno News’ requests for comment.
