Police CAUGHT spreading misinformation about Tumbler Ridge shooter
Candice Malcolm recaps the latest from Tumbler Ridge, including exclusive reporting from Juno News that the shooter’s father has contradicted RCMP reports and is demanding a retraction from police
On today’s episode of the Candice Malcolm Show News Update, Candice gives an update on the latest news from Tumbler Ridge, including the identities of the victims and a small bit of good news about one victim fighting for her life in a Vancouver hospital.
Candice walks us through Juno News’ latest exclusive – an interview with the shooter’s father that directly contradicts RCMP statements. The father, Justin Van Rootselaar, told Juno News that his son’s name is Jesse Strang, that he has never gone by the name the RCMP gave him and that even his passport says Jesse Strang.
The father is demanding the RCMP correct its false reporting, and notes the irony of the police respecting Jesse’s preferred pronouns but not respecting his name.
Candice then goes through the handful of misleading and false claims by the RCMP in this case, including the dangerous misinformation in the Emergency Alert released during the shooting informing the public that the shooter was “female.”
It’s Fake News Friday on the Candice Malcolm Show, and Candice goes through the very many examples of legacy media pushing a fake news narrative. Activist journalists are more concerned about protecting trans people’s feelings than reporting the truth.
Finally, Candice looks at the 2019 CBC Kids show called “Drag Kids” – a disturbing series that sexualizes young children and encourages them to transition. The show aired around the same time as Jesse Strang began “transitioning.”

If the 12 year old child had received appropriate mental health treatment six years ago instead of the “adults” and “medical” people in his life affirming and encouraging his mental illness, this immense tragedy would not have occurred. The same can be said for the other nine mass murders in recent years by mentally ill people suffering from gender dysphoria. .
Answer me this. Who does the RCMP work for...really?
