A man charged in the alleged arson outside Liberal MP Salma Zahid’s Toronto home had previously faced a series of charges involving a shooting, armed robbery and stolen vehicles.
Toronto police allege an individual approached several vehicles parked in a driveway near Bellamy Road North and Lawrence Avenue East at approximately 1:21 a.m. on August 27.
According to police, the suspect poured an accelerant over the vehicles and ignited two of them before fleeing in a vehicle. A third vehicle was also damaged.
