A man already free on release conditions is now accused of a violent stranger attack spree in North York, Toronto, after allegedly assaulting two people within 10 minutes on Thursday night, according to Toronto police.
Thirty-seven-year-old Victory Ogih faces charges.
Public court records show Ogih's information has been sworn in at Toronto's Armory Street courthouse five times in the past three months.
Police outlined the most recent alleged crime spree in a Sunday media release.
Officers received a radio call on September 11 at about 8:50 p.m., in the Weston Road and Finch Avenue area.
Police allege that about 40 minutes earlier, Ogih approached his first victim — who was sitting with his family — and, unprovoked, began repeatedly punching him before striking him with a weapon.
Police say the suspect and victim did not know each other. The victim was taken to hospital.
Minutes later, police say the same suspect became involved in a verbal altercation with a woman.
A man walking his dog nearby intervened and was also attacked with a weapon.
Ogih has been charged with assault, two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of assault causing bodily harm, and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims.
