Responding to a 10-minute video from Prime Minister Mark Carney, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre criticized the prime minister for failing to deliver on key promises, saying the video simply repeated claims he has been making for the past year.

Carney released a nearly 10-minute video Sunday outlining plans to diversify Canada’s markets and spur what he called “trillion dollars” in investment, signalling a shift away from reliance on the United States as a trading partner. In the video, Carney also said he “developed” forward guidance during his time as governor of the Bank of Canada, a term that had already been used by central bankers in Japan and the United States years earlier.
