Poilievre defends statements, women feel unsafe in Vancouver
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre stands by a B.C. woman’s testimony, saying she feels safer in Mexico than in Vancouver. He doubled down, noting that crime has surged in the last 10 years.
Pierre Poilievre says Canadians shouldn’t be mocked for saying they feel safer abroad than in their own cities.
Speaking in Richmond, B.C., on Monday, the Conservative leader stood by a woman’s claim that she feels safer in Mexico than in her home city of Vancouver, while calling on Prime Minister Mark Carney to reverse high spending, taxes and anti-development regulations.
Poilievre also said Liberal commentators online should be ashamed after attempting to “silence” a woman who told him at an airport that she no longer feels safe in her own community.
