Poilievre assembles property rights task force to counter B.C. Cowichan decision
“The implications for private property will be massive,” Poilievre wrote, cautioning that similar claims across British Columbia could further disrupt housing markets and development.
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is assembling a new caucus task force to examine what he calls a growing threat to private property rights, following a landmark British Columbia court decision and a controversial federal agreement with a First Nation in Metro Vancouver.
In a letter released Thursday, Poilievre appointed Tako van Popta, Conservative MP for Langley Township—Fraser Heights, to chair the newly formed Conservative Task Force on Property Rights.
