Remember when - Chretien cancelled the helicopter orders and cost us a fortune - 1993. Reordered a cheaper civilian H, retooled for military - with massive maintenance costs for what we have. And we still don’t have all the new helicopters. And our Seakimg fleet is still partially flying using old ones for parts.

Not surprising Linerals are trying to find money to pay for their overspend. We should try getting junk jets like we did subs. Get real. It’s time to defend or sell Canada to the highest bidder.

Carney is nothing but a privateer. He will do what's best for his pockets. He is worst than turdope. He look for deals that his pockets will benifit. That's why he moved his company to the us, where it will be safe. I'm sure his money is somewhere out of the country too. Oh yeah, he really believes in this country, that's why he has some many citizenships.

Considering the unfriendly government in Washington, we cannot rely on the US to not use leverage to get their way. Leverage pertaining to the F-35 purchase, are (a) the contractual hold the US has on the source code (required for regular operational upgrades), and (b) the need to have the aircraft stealth coating reapplications performed in the US. Withholding either significantly impacts the operational capability of the aircraft. *the above information was provided by Michael Byers, Special to the Globe and Mail, published March 5, 2025..
