Peel Regional Police have arrested and charged two more individuals in connection with an investigation involving two females who were allegedly trafficked across the province in 2024.
The investigation goes back to last October, according to authorities. That's when Peel and Halton police began an investigation into two females who had allegedly been sexually trafficked throughout the Golden Horseshoe area.
The Golden Horseshoe area refers to a stretch of land starting from Niagara Falls at the eastern end of the Niagara Peninsula, bordering the United States via New York, and extends west, wrapping around the western end of Lake Ontario at Hamilton, then turning northeast to Toronto.
In the early stages of the investigation, police identified 37-year-old Marcus Moses—also known as “King Marlow”—as their suspect.
In fall 2024, Moses was arrested after search warrants led to the seizure of a firearm, drum magazine, and large amounts of ammunition and drugs.
At the time, Moses was charged with 26 offences related to human trafficking, drug trafficking, and weapons possession.
To date, he remains in custody and now faces 20 additional charges in relation to new victims coming forward, bringing the total to 46 offences.
As the investigation progressed, two females were also arrested, charged, and held for bail.
Ashley Mullings, 31, was charged with two counts of human trafficking, one count of advertising sexual services, and a bevvy of additional charges related to controlling others for the purposes of sex trafficking.
Tiana Beckford, 34, has likewise been charged with human trafficking-related offences, along with unauthorized possession of a firearm and two possession for the purpose of trafficking charges related to heroin and fentanyl.
Investigators believe “there may be more victims of Marcus Moses and his associates,” particularly in the Golden Horseshoe area between 2014 and 2024, and are encouraging anyone with information to call the Specialized Enforcement Bureau –Vice Unit at 905-453–2121, ext. 3555. Information may also be left anonymously.
True North has previously reported on several other high-profile suspected human trafficking-related arrests and will continue to monitor the issue closely.
