Another day another story about how expensive and useless Liberals are. Another day another day of silence for Canada's legacy media about the corruption and lies they refuse to cover because it will reveal the elbows up scam they ran on low information voters. Vassey Kowbell and Rosie Trudeau carriers of water for the Laurentian cult.

Don't worry.

Brookfied is going to do just fine.

Concerned Male's avatar

I hear they are going to have to open a new bicycle shop in Bermuda for their Billions!

William Stewart's avatar

I suspect they did that a long time ago.

Wonder if Carney has one there as well.

Concerned Male's avatar

Exactly, and they have choked up at least $6.5B in avoidance at that one so far. I meant another one based on how much they take from Canadians. They avoid so many taxes I wonder how many they will need there?

Another campaign promise broken; not that any sensible person believed that ilLiberals were ever going to achieve 500k new homes a year. Lib voters are so gullible. Canadians had the chance to right the ship in the last election and blew it!

What's new just another Carney lie exposed, when are the Libtards going to figure out that they elected a corrupt liar who is not building but destroying Canada

Liberal voters have placed this vehicle in cruise control and gone to sleep. Too late now.

Let's see now. Carny promised 500,000 new homes - per year - and is delivering 25,000 - over five years.

If my math is correct, that's something like a zero-point-sfa-not-even-measurable percent of promise.

But he is building them with 'blinding speed' though.

I have a mental image of Carny, in a construction hat, steel-toed boots, carpenter's tool belt, scampering up and down ladders late at night in his spare time like some demented beaver, desperate to fulfil his promise.

But say - you don't suppose the 500,000 was a meaningless campaign promise to the sheep, do you?

Please, say it ain't so.

unbelievable that the libs actually believe what they are doing is good for the country. How do they sleep at night?? No conscience, no guilt, no accountability....wow what a great job. And now another bureaucratic agency to flush our tax dollars into.

Ingrid Jansons's avatar

The government shouldn’t be in charge of building houses, they should have a way smaller role than they have.

Doug Stephens's avatar

But just think of how many bureaucrats the snake Carney can now hire to run this next debacle.

David James's avatar

My humble opinion? This government should be incarcerated for our own safety and well being.

David James's avatar

Carney and truth? Hasn't happened yet.

Half a million dollars for each home from big daddy government if my numbers are right. These small modular homes shouldn't cost more than that to begin with. Taxpayers are getting fleeced yet again.

Another thought; whatever housing does get built will almost certainly be in the form of high rises - in order to create the precious 15 minute cities the creatures at WEF are so excited about.

The punishment to MP's for lying, fraud and corruption is severe. So severe that nobody has faced serous criminal charges in the past 25 years. Ask Trudeau what he got away with.

But Carney PROMISED 500,000 new homes PER YEAR. That would be 57 new homes PER HOUR, almost a NEW HOME EVERY MINUTE!

WOW, he isn't even the the same universe as his promise!

Liberal housing plan falling apart, Corny Carney said they would build 500,000 homes per year. That is 57 homes/hour/day every year, NOT per decade.

YES don't worry Brookfield will do just fine is RIGHT.

Brookfield Asset Management has investments in modular and manufactured housing. This includes the acquisition of Modulaire Group, a leading provider of modular accommodations, and a pending deal to acquire Yes! Communities, a large operator of manufactured housing communities. Brookfield's real estate portfolio also includes its own manufactured housing and RV communities.

May be a huge conflict of interest??

I was never on board with Carney allocating billions to housing. Liberal voters don't realize that the taxpayer picks up the tab on this. It's always the taxpayer. Thanks to the Libs Canada is CLOSED FOR BUSINESS.

This is actually a good thing. I have no problem with some transitional housing but the rest is just a huge Liberal boondoggle to syphon off money to Liberal friends and family. Reduce student visas by a meaningful amount and vacant rentals will appear like magic. Same with other immigration.

Rents have tanked in downtown Toronto in the last year with moderate decline in student visas.

It is so easy to help young Canadians get housing at affordable prices and it doesn't cost anything.
