Two men face attempted murder and robbery charges after a Brampton man was stabbed during a carjacking earlier this year, police say.
Peel Regional Police have pressed charges again Simranjeet Singh, 22, and Parteek Ehitaan, 20, over the incident.
In a Wednesday media release, investigators from Peel Region Police say the incident happened on May 10 when the victim arranged to sell his Dodge Challenger on Facebook Marketplace.
Police allege the man was on a test drive with two suspects when one pulled a knife, threatened him, and stabbed him in the throat after he refused to give up the vehicle.
The suspects allegedly fled in the car, while the victim was rushed to a trauma centre with serious injuries. Police say the vehicle was recovered the next day in Windsor.
On Sept. 11, members of Peel’s central robbery division, working with Windsor police, arrested the suspects.
Both men are charged with attempted murder, robbery and aggravated assault.
Court records obtained by True North show that Parteek Ehitaan had been sworn in to the Windsor courthouse in June, along with another co-accused, on two charges of possession of property obtained by crime.
It remains unclear whether he was released on bail prior to the most recent arrest and media release by Peel police.
Ehitaan and Singh were held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice following their most recent arrests.
