Ottawa too afraid of being called "Islamophobic" to confront Islamic extremism
Experts on Islamic extremism raised the alarm over “terrorists in Armani suits,” youth radicalization, and fear Canada is ignoring Islamic extremism while at the Tafsik event in Toronto.
Canada is too afraid of being labelled “Islamophobic” to seriously confront Islamist extremism, speakers at a Toronto Tafsik event warned this week, as several U.S. states move to ban Muslim Brotherhood-linked groups.
The event featured Lebanese-American activist Brigitte Gabriel and foreign policy and national security analyst Joe Adam George. Much of the discussion focused on the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood in North America.
George said the issue goes beyond violent terrorism alone.
“It’s not just about guns, bombs or knives,” George said, he told Juno News in what he called the “stealth” and “non-violent” dimensions of jihadist ideology operating through the public and private sector.
