Ottawa dissolves designated terror group Samidoun
Samidoun's Canadian founder, Charlotte Kates, travelled to Iran to receive a reward from the Islamic theocracy in 2024.
The Canadian government has officially shut down Samidoun about 18 months after the group was designated as a terrorist entity.
The Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network was designated as a terrorist group in October 2024, yet still held charity status in Canada for well over a year, which even enabled the group to tie up Canada’s courts with lawsuits against Canadian political leaders.
