A memorandum of understanding has been signed between Ottawa, the Alberta government, and several other major companies involved with the Oil Sands Alliance regarding the Pathways project to advance the proposed west coast pipeline.

The MOU details what conditions must be met to offset carbon emissions from constructing a pipeline from Alberta to the B.C. coast, including carbon capture and storage.
