Hopefully, no-one will be stupid enough to vote for Davies. A vote for him is a vote for NENSHI, the Bane of Alberta.

If the voters have this knowledge available to them, i could see little or no interest in placing a vote for him. As the writer states we don't need his crazy notions to make a mess of things. We need Albertans to be united to gain independence.

Oh my. All we need is another grudge holder, like M Bernier who's goal is simply to bring down Conservative party.

Yikes.

May truth prevail.

Davies is a Jason "greatest summer ever" Kenney disciple, don't fall for his BS.

Whether Davies is legit or not, the right has to stop dividing the vote or they get what they deserve...Nenshi coming up the middle to bring the NDP in power for 4 years. The right is always shooting themselves in the foot with someone thinking they can just move a little farther right or left and then it'll be the perfect conservative gov't and splitting votes accordingly. Do you notice the left never does this? The left join one another as seen in the recent fed election with the Libs & NDP taking out the conservatives. Hmmm, could they have something there?

Hmmm, I’m a little disappointed in this article. Cam’s interview with Chris Scott explained alot. This race will be determined by people voting for who best represents their values. Olds/Didsbury/Three Hills saw much to be desired about Cam’s debate.

Cam Davies and the Republican party are the last thing Alberta needs. Alberta does not need another party, especially one lead by activists who have nothing but contempt for Danielle Smith. Danielle Smith is the best Premier Alberta has ever had and she's doing amazing in her battle to fight for Albertans. Cam Davies wants to bring down Danielle and the UPC government. He's an opportunist who is using the citizens of Alberta and their attempt for Independence for his own personal and political gain. Davies wants to take votes away from Danielle Smith to have an NDP government. REMEMBER...all provincial NDP parties are directly linked the the federal NDP party (unlike the provincial Conservative party). Don't fall for this game by Davies and the Republicans. Don't split the UPC votes with them or all the work Danielle Smith has done for Alberta and Albertans will be gone and Alberta will be done just like the rest of Canada. Use your critical thinking skills Albertans.

Hey Juno. Sounds biased to me. You are supposed to as a journalist be neutral. Sounds like you are against.Cam

As a paying subscriber I don’t appreciate that.

But you're ok with political sabotage by idiots like Cam Davies and Bruce Fanjoy getting their jollies (and probably getting a few bucks ) to undermine what few ethics we have left in our political system?? Do you have any other options for those of us trying to get our country AND our lives back to some semblance of normalcy after 10 years of chaos and corruption??..We're all ears, Irene.

We are still Allowed in this country as yet to differ in opinion & therefore I have my opinion & it differs from yours. Hopefully the way this country is going we don’t find out we don’t have that option to differ soon

It is the truth that the more “right” parties there are the more the conservatives of all stripes lose to the left. We saw it in the recent National election and we have seen it in BC. If you want an NDP government in Alberta just vote for the separation party. Split the conservative vote and don’t complain about your province becoming another BC… no jobs, no money for social programs and no building anything!

Watched this guy on Candace Malcolm podcast. He is, without any doubts whatsoever, a narcissistic - all about me how great I am - piece of political garbage! Most will agree we’ve been saturated with this type of looser in Ottawa since about 2015! Only a mentally challenged could envision supporting this socialist excuse! Let’s keep Alberta great and healthy under the best leader in Canada!!! The best in the West!!

I'm pretty sure that Davies is not running up against Nenshi in that riding, just like Smith for the UCP is not running in that riding (although you wouldn't know that by the the last month of campaigning). The UCP candidate was not elected nor nominated by the local CA. Appointed just like Nenshi in his "guaranteed" riding.

I'm all for those who want to work to represent the constituents in their perspective ridings not those that have been "placed" and are a malleable tool for the leadership.

For those that want to place their vote by succumbing to fear of the far left alternative versus making an informed choice on who is standing on your behalf I wish you all the best.

They always 'say the right things'. Not worth the risk at this time. Conservatives seeking independence need to stay the course as is and we will get there, pulling the plug now and splitting our ranks is doomed to fail, and heaven forbid Numbnuts Nenshi gets in, if he does it will be on the backs of those who chose to vote for Cam.

I disagree. Rick. Why is it that we conservatives have to voice & disagree & cannot focus our attentions on the real issue which is freedom. The left can keep their focus but no not the right. We need to pick away and disagree. Everyone who is talking freedom which I believe Cam is, well why can’t we not unify under that freedom umbrella.? Did you really listen to what his platform is?

Expand full comment
Rick Pikulski's avatar

Yes I listened to his platform. From what I see those wanting independence are already focused on freedom, via the APP and other groups who support it's efforts that have been ongoing for some time now. That can also be considered a 'freedom umbrella', why can you not unify under that? A 'new' guy and group on the block is not focus, it is a distraction from current efforts underway, do you think 'everyone' invested so far is simply going to change shirts at this point? Do you think he and his track record are that dynamic? Some might, many won't, then what do you end up with? Picture the worst case scenario, and ask yourself if it's worth the risk is worth at this time.

Saying all the right things is a political game and he hopes you are gullible to enough to believe his words without checking his history and motives (just like Carney did). If Albertans don't use critical thinking skills, Alberta will be done, just like the rest of Canada. Anyone who puts faith in a politician just because they know the right words to say is very gullible. That's how we got Carney as PM.
