Canada’s Bee Apocalypse began in 2008. That was the year the Canadian Association of Professional Apiculturists (CAPA) first reported unusually high rates of winter bee colony losses. At 35 per cent, the winter die-off that year was more than twice the normal 15 per cent rate of attrition.
