OP-ED: Toronto suffers as Chow focuses on naming taco ingredients

This past weekend, while Antifa protesters were harassing people at Queen’s Park and the police were taking their usual hands-off approach, our dancing mayor decided to give a narrative on her Taco parties.
She was at a Latin fall fiesta at Sankofa Square and moved up and down the stage in an unhinged fashion, oblivious to those around her as she named all the ingredients she uses.
”I love having Taco parties,” said Olivia Chow.
I’m not sure whether she was inebriated, desperately in search of attention or just increasingly unhinged. But aside from the entertainment value, it’s hard to believe this cringeworthy behaviour is coming from the mayor of Canada’s largest city.
Never mind that she’s 68 years old and acts like a teenager, but her behaviour is highly unprofessional.
I wouldn’t give a crap whether Chow made a fool of herself if she had some inkling of how to run a large city in 2025.
But Chow is still living as if it were 25 years ago, when her late husband could bully the then-mayor and senior levels of government into giving an endless stream of money to deal with the homeless and other pet projects.
Some 25 years later, it has become patently obvious that homelessness is an industry in Toronto (and Canada) and no manner of bailouts from taxpayers will improve things.
Instead of realizing her own actions have helped create the problem—namely, allowing an endless flow of refugees into Toronto and celebrating that fact — like a broken record with many scratches on it, she turns to the same old screeching for handouts.
Handling of the many crises that have beset Toronto appears to be a mere footnote to Chow’s endless need to party, dance and execute other performative acts.
After two years, she has (perhaps deliberately) put my community repeatedly in harm’s way by not allowing police to do their jobs and pretty much ignoring the violent protests on our streets.
While she repeatedly cozies up to Muslims and other visible minorities by wearing headscarves and other accoutrements at their events, her recognition of the city’s Jewish population and the hate crimes is always a day late and a dollar short.
On Monday, she recognized Rosh Hashanah at City Hall — a mere week after the holiday — with brown apples and honey in crappy containers.
I wish she hadn’t bothered.
She doesn’t seem to care about addicts falling over on our streets and scaring away tourists, not to mention taxpayers.
Speaking of taxes, she threatened a huge tax increase Monday if the federal government doesn’t fork over $107-million to welcome more immigrants to our Sanctuary City.
It’s as if she and her mostly socialist, anti-Semitic council think they’re in office merely to abuse their power, pander to diversity groups, spend money and collect their overpaid salaries.
One such person is my own councillor, Josh Matlow, who has been pretty much missing in action this entire term.
He’s been so absent that on the weekend, signs denouncing his lack of work ethic suddenly cropped up on a trail near my home.
It's Dundas Square! I will no more refer to it as Sankofa Square than I will call a dude in a dress she/her.
These far left wing globalist Marxist politicians are a disgrace to their office and positions of power they abuse....Chow acts with total delusion of any semblance of reality, honor or integrity. Toronto has surely received exactly what they voted for. Hopefully their property taxes now sky rocket as Toronto home owners and Chow supporters scramble to pay their property taxes....These "elbows up" morons are getting what they voted for lunacy and sky rocketing levels of taxation....Hopefully these idiots will enjoy their new reality of the same old increasing levels of municipal government insanity.....
