OP-ED: Toronto crumbles while Mayor Chow parties and jet-sets abroad
Sue-Ann Levy Writes, "We are clearly a city in decline — a decline that started with our former mayor John Tory and which has now ramped up even further under Dancing Queen Olivia Chow."

On Sunday morning, my wife and I took a five-kilometre walk through our neighbourhood.
We saw weeds grossly overgrown on city boulevards and litter everywhere.
On our own street, those constructing a new house have been permitted to mess up the sidewalks with pebbles, construction cones and old crime scene tape along with garbage bags — evidence that palms have been greased or our city inspectors just don’t do their jobs.
This is in addition to the construction debris one finds on many streets as if our municipal inspectors have simply checked out.
I’m not even talking about the rampant crime (break-ins) or the abusive terrorist sympathizers who have been allowed to tie up squares and downtown streets with their prayer rugs and their protests in full view of the police (who do nothing).
I won’t even get into the drug vending machines and illegal drug peddling I hear about everyday.
We are clearly a city in decline — a decline that started with our former mayor John Tory and which has now ramped up even further under the leadership of our adolescent embarrassment of a socialist mayor, Dancing Queen Olivia Chow.
This is what is occurring in many socialist-run cities across Canada and in the United States including Calgary, Vancouver and Montreal.
It will no doubt ramp up if that socialist Marxist Jew hater Zohran Mandami wins the mayoralty in New York City.
It makes me wonder how people with any shred of intelligence can vote for these kinds of people who want to destroy our cities.
I guess they are lured by the promise of freebies.
Speaking of freebies, Chow jetted off to Ireland and the United Kingdom on Sunday to lead a six-day trade mission to allegedly sell our film industry.
I always laugh when our political leaders claim they have to travel to wherever to sell our film industry. Tory used that line as well.
One rarely sees a report from their travels, convincing me all the more that it’s just an excuse to travel, rub shoulders and drink beer with other failed politicians.
Can’t wait to see her photo ops.
This jaunt is fresh from her cameo appearance at the Salsa on St. Clair Festival Saturday, where she looked more like she was flailing than doing the salsa.
Now, aside from the fact that our Dancing Queen mayor — usually dressed in a variety of inappropriate costumes — has proven not to know the first thing about leading a large metropolis beset with so many issues, the idea that she’s selling Toronto overseas makes me absolutely shudder.
I realize this is an attempt to respond to the “risk” Chow and her inept council perceive as a result of Trump’s non-tariffs.
In fact, in a statement, Chow says, “at a time of historic uncertainty, reliable trade partners have never been more important.”
The city news release says Chow is hoping to increase Canadian content through “co-production treaties” with the two countries.
What the hell does that mean?
She’ll apparently meet with the Dublin Lord Mayor and the London mayor, Sadiq Khan.
Ireland has proven to be highly anti-Semitic and Khan, like Chow, has permitted the terrorist sympathizers to take over London’s streets while the police stand idly by doing nothing.
She’ll certainly be in good company.
The lazy legacy media, of course, swallowed this B.S. without question.
But aside from the ridiculousness of such a mission and Chow “leading” it — that this inept woman can actually influence trade — she seems to have no insight into or concern with what’s playing out right in front of her on Toronto’s streets and how people are turned off from visiting the city.
People are also voting with their feet by moving elsewhere.
It’s her city that is at “risk” from her socialist policies.
Perhaps instead of shmoozing with her European counterparts, she’d do far more for Toronto if she gave the police the word to get the praying, abusive terrorist sympathizers off our streets.
Just one word.
Opening harm reduction shelters secretly wherever she feels like has turned lawful neighbourhoods into undesirable wrecks that attract drug dealers and crime (both petty and violent).
Many won’t ride the TTC anymore (me included).
Law-abiding residents are feeling helpless and unsafe because they know Chow and her inept Councillors don’t care one bit.
It seems they only get passionate about changing the names of squares and streets, about giving an obscene $900K bailout to fiscally inept Pride, about lowering speed limits on major thoroughfares and about raising taxes and their own salaries.
Let’s not forget that Chow and her lazy councillors hiked our taxes 16% over two years but had no problem raising their salaries by $33,000 this year.
They now make $170,000 each. Chow makes $231,000.
For what?
So, forgive me if, unlike the legacy media, I will not champion any missions led by our Dancing Queen mayor.
In fact, I am embarrassed to think she’ll represent Toronto on the world stage.
25% of Toronto's population voted in the last municipal election. 75% stayed at home, complain and watch the city crumble. There are now two kinds of elections, one where people stay at home ignoring their democratic right, the other where the government of the day along with their heavily subsidized legacy media sell a bill of goods, a scam, to 9 million Liberal voters like the past elbows up scam.
Toronto has had a death wish for quite some time now.
But this is the grim (dancing) reaper on steroids.
You voted for her Toronto.
Live, or more appropriately die with it.
