If they got rid of the dei, woke teachings , reduced government spending dramatically, got rid of the insane climate bs laws, the whole situation would change dramatically for the betterment of the working class as well as businesses. We would be "for goodness sakes" a real successful nation. But when ruled by communists, it's nothing but poverty for the working slobs.
It needs to be ended no matter how painful for these companies. Our country is not providing jobs for Canadians or new immigrants. It’s absolutely disgusting and contributing to the breakdown of our country.
The myth that young Canadians don't want this kind of work is a self-fulfilling for the employers, who basically like the total control they can control over foreign workers who care less about pay and benefits than securing permanent residence, so a different playing field. If these employers in the agriculture and food processing industries would set up programs for young people, as attractive as they ones they offer to foreigners, they would see some better results. For instance, recruit students from high schools and colleges and universities and offer seasonal/summer contracts, transport to the work-site, residences including trailers like the Jamaican strawberry pickers get in Nova Scotia, and help facilitate a team spirit with social/travel events when possible (in Nova Scotia a trip to Halifax for one of the big summer festival events). There would be different outcomes.
The whole program (plus many other "bills" ..passed while Parliament was closed )was implemented to wipe out the middle class..making the poverty/ wealth gap so large it made the now much larger "lower" class easier to control and submit...You know..Communism
One of the biggest TFW scams was at the CNRL Horizon Oilsands 2005 project north of Ft. Mac. The contract stated that the TFW were to be the LAST brought on site after Canadian workers (union and non-union) were hired on..and if there were positions remaining, THEN the TFWs would fill them. But Steve Laut, CNRL's president hired subcontractors who then hired on Canadian non-union workers..skipped the unionized Canadian workers and brought on thousands of TFWs. The AFL (Alberta Federation of Labour) had THOUSANDS of union workers unemployed, and after meetings/ protests etc. the AFL took CNRL to court...long story short..the long process ..eventually going to the Supreme court of Canada..who Found CNRL guilty of breaking their contract..and fined..but..by then..Horizon was completed..(just as CNRL) had planned all along
I find it hard to blame the company for taking advantage of a program put in by our incompetent government. Who was it that messed this whole thing up...oh yea, he's our justice minister now and he's going to solve our crime problem. A "wrecking ball".
Even tho that multi-billion $$$ company knowingly broke the law/ lied/ and kept thousands of CANADIAN union workers unemployed??..You and I have different morals and ethics, huh?

Carney hasn't changed anything and life in this country is worse off with Carney than Trudeau. Temporary foreign workers are used as basically slave labour and I would bet they aren't paying income tax to this country or at least what they should pay. This entire policy should be investigated, but that isn't going to happen. Many of these jobs should be filled with younger people that are either in high school, or those who are trying to get into the work force and get some experience of working. This is what was done years ago when I grew up. I was never short of money as a kid because I always had a job after school everyday and on Saturday. My parents didn't have to fund my secondary education as I was able to do this myself, getting a student loan and quickly paying it off. Now foreign workers take most of these jobs. This country is so messed up thanks to the Liberals who follow agendas and policies of globalists.
sure the business cannot survive without government money so they blame it on temp workers and cover it up with temp workers...seems to be the canadian way now, stop all payments for those temp workers and see what happens to those so called businesses, did they survive previously or are they new businesses that suddenly popped up to take advantage of the temp. worker money handouts ?
My take on this story is that the government should stay out of the economy and stick to their knitting. You know roads , bridges, that sort of thing. Now to these business that use foreign workers , where are Your morals? Do You like the rest of Canada to pay for Your profits? Guess that means You have not thought this out beyond the dollar bill. Here we go again, the federal government not doing the job they have been elected to do, makes one wonder why we pay these people to just be seat warmers! Another thing I saw last night on the fifth estate, the debacle with Interior Health agency, they have had a major data breach that has resulted in thousands of frontline workers in interior health being practically bankrupted, and they have been denying it for years, meanwhile these employees have been left to figure it out for themselves, suffering serious consequences. A face to face with Minister Josie Osborne was soundly rebuffed! Another example of the government not doing what we pay them for!
So - the system is broken. Many things are going the wrong way. Dont stop there please. Ask and answer this question: What are your ideas on how to fix this mess?
