That's if the government actually does implement the measures that the author mentions. We've heard this before. The Liberals have promised things and then didn't deliver.
We shouldn't need to have a National School Food program in the first place. If the cost of groceries and housing costs came down and people were able to earn a decent wage, they should be able to feed their own families and not rely on a program.
School food program is socialist in nature and I for one do not need socialism in My life. Just leave government out of the economy and You and I will be able to live within Our means. But I guess people like to be told what they can and can not do!
In what kind of political system does the government provide food, housing, daycare, medical care, surveillance, border control, bank account seizures? The kind where government employees are a huge part of the work force, and private enterprise is restricted via excessive regulations and taxation? Socialism; and it's getting worse. Why isn't the emphasis on helping Canadians take care of themselves?

Government run companies and programs just don’t work…like dental and $10 daycare, both of which are severely undersubscribed..Government housing will flop…Every Canadian province had some form of government-run or assisted public housing in the 1990s, which were part of a national system before the Liberal federal government under Jean Chrétien withdrew from new social housing funding in the 1990s.
The subsequent downloading of responsibility to provinces and municipalities, often without adequate funding, led to significant challenges and perceived "failures" across the country. These housing complexes fell into dilapidated communities with rampant crime.
The writer is being overly optimistic. I see nothing there but more tax expense. And subsidies just drive the economy deeper into the grave. Subsidies is part of what got us into the mess we're in. Driving the economy on a downward spin. That and a lack of having a government instead of having a criminal organization ruling the country. Conman was the last nail in the Canadian coffin.
'Nothing' is going to change with Liberal #2.....it is going to get much worse. The Ostrich cull should never have gone so far as take away the owners rights of care for those animals is to deny the animals due care.
